Hey, foodies! Let’s get cooking with this crazy good Spicy Mongolian Beef with Fried Rice.

It’s like takeout, but better, and you can brag that YOU made it. Let’s do this!

What You’ll Need (Ingredients):

For the Beef:

  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (more if you’re brave)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 green onions, chopped

For the Fried Rice:

  • 3 cups cooked rice (leftover rice works best!)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Let’s Cook It Up!

Step 1: Prep the Beef

  1. Toss the beef slices in cornstarch until they’re all coated. Let them sit for 10 minutes while you get your sauce ready.

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, red pepper flakes, and water. Set aside.

Step 2: Sizzle the Beef

  1. Heat the oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef in batches and cook until crispy (about 2-3 minutes per side). Take them out and set them on a plate.

  1. In the same skillet, toss in the garlic for like 30 seconds. Pour in the sauce and let it bubble up for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the beef back and mix it all up. Toss in the green onions. Boom, the beef is done!

Step 3: Fried Rice Time!

  1. In a big pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the beaten eggs and scramble them.
  2. Toss in the peas and carrots, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the rice, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Stir it all together and fry for 5 minutes.

Plate It Like a Pro
