Hey y’all! Today, I’m making something super crispy and yummy—Southern Fried Salmon Patties!
This is an easy, classic Southern dish that’s perfect for a quick dinner or snack. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
- 1 can (14.75 oz) pink salmon (drained and flaked)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup diced onion
- ¼ cup diced bell pepper (optional)
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- Prep the salmon: Drain the canned salmon and remove any large bones if needed. Flake the salmon into a bowl.
Mix the ingredients: Add the breadcrumbs, egg, diced onion, bell pepper (if using), mayo, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until it sticks well.
Form the patties: Shape the mixture into small patties, about the size of your palm. You should get around 4-6 patties.
Heat the oil: In a large skillet, heat about ¼ inch of vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
Fry the patties: Carefully place the patties in the skillet and fry for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Don’t overcrowd the pan—work in batches if needed.
Drain and serve: Place the fried patties on a paper towel to drain any excess oil, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce or over a salad.
This will be a fun, Southern-inspired recipe for your audience to try out!
