Is it a salad or a dessert? You decide. This Orange Creamsicle Salad is an old-fashioned favourite. Versions of it have been around for generations! In my family, it’s typically served at special occa. love what I call “sweet side dishes”. You know the ones. They are technically called a “salad” but are so sweet they could double as dessert. I make a ton of different ones, especially in the summertime. They are perfect for picnics or cookouts, especially if you want to make them ahead and take them. This one reminds me of getting treats off the ice cream truck as a kid!
ingredients:
1 box orange Jell-O
1 box instant vanilla pudding
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
1 Cool Whip 8 oz.
1 can mandarin oranges 14 oz. , drained
1 cup mini marshmallows
Instructions:
- Cook together the boxes of jello and pudding until thickened. Cool completely at least 4 hours. I put it in the fridge until the next morning.
- After it’s cooled mix in the whipped cream and drained mandarin oranges.
- Serve it in a large glass bowl with a few mandarin orange slices on top as decoration and watch it disappear from the table.
