Hey, hey, hey! Ever heard of Italian Drunken Noodles?

It’s basically a fancy name for a super yummy pasta dish with a bit of wine (yeah, that’s the “drunken” part 😂).

If you want to wow your fam or friends with something that sounds boujee but is totally easy, this is it! Let’s get cookin’! 😎

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 12 oz. pappardelle pasta (those wide, ribbon-like noodles)
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy, your choice!)
  • 1 large bell pepper (sliced thin – go for red or yellow for a pop of color)
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • 1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth if you’re keeping it non-alcoholic)
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (spicy alert! 🔥)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for cooking)

How to Make It:

1.Cook the pasta: Boil a big pot of salted water and cook your pappardelle according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, but save a little pasta water (about 1/4 cup).

2.Brown the sausage: Heat some olive oil in a big pan over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until it’s brown and crumbly. Make sure it’s cooked through! Once done,

4.Sauté the veggies: In the same pan (because we like less dishes, right?), throw in your sliced bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic.

4.Get “drunk”: Add the cherry tomatoes and white wine to the pan. Let it simmer for a few minutes so the wine reduces a bit.

5.Combine it all: Toss the sausage back into the pan with the veggies, then add your cooked pappardelle noodles. Mix it all together like a pasta party! If it’s looking a little dry, add that reserved pasta water, one spoonful at a time, until it’s perfect.

6.Finishing touches: Stir in the chopped fresh basil, season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve it up! 🍽️

Tips:

Not into sausage? Swap it with chicken or leave it out for a veggie version!

If you don’t have pappardelle, you can totally use fettuccine or tagliatelle instead.

Wanna make it extra cheesy? Grate some Parmesan on top. 🧀
