Honey Garlic Slow Cooker Chicken Thighs – Sweet, Savory, and So Easy!
Ingredients:
- 6-8 chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ketchup (for a little tang)
- 1 teaspoon ginger (optional, but adds extra flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening sauce)
- Optional: Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions:
- Mix the sauce: In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, ginger (if using), and black pepper. Stir until it’s all combined.
Prepare the chicken: Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker in a single layer.
Add the sauce: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken thighs, making sure they are well coated.
Cook: Set your slow cooker on low and cook for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. The chicken will be tender and fall-off-the-bone delicious!
Thicken the sauce: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and stir it into the sauce. Let it cook for another 10-15 minutes to thicken.
Serve and enjoy: Serve the chicken thighs with the thickened honey garlic sauce poured over them. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top if you like!
