Hey foodie fam! Today, we’re making some epic Crawfish Bread that’s cheesy, buttery, and full of Cajun flavor.
If you’ve never had it before, it’s like a New Orleans party in your mouth! Ready to level up your snack game? Let’s do this!
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf French bread (sliced in half lengthwise)
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup onion (finely chopped)
- ½ cup green bell pepper (finely chopped)
- ½ cup celery (finely chopped)
- 2-3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 lb crawfish tails (peeled and cooked, fresh or frozen and thawed)
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
- Hot sauce (optional, but highly recommended!)
Directions:
- Prep & Toast: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes until slightly crispy. Set aside. 🍞
Sauté the Veggies: In a large skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery. Cook for about 5 minutes until soft, then add the garlic and cook for another minute. 🍳
Add the Crawfish: Toss in the crawfish tails and Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and smells amazing. If you like it spicy, add a few dashes of hot sauce now! 🔥
Make the Cheesy Filling: In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese. Stir in the crawfish mixture until everything is well combined. 🧀🦞
Assemble the Bread: Spread the crawfish and cheese mixture evenly over the toasted bread halves. Pile it high—more filling, more flavor! 😋
Bake: Pop the loaded bread back in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. It should be golden and ooey-gooey. 🔥
Serve & Enjoy: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and cut into slices. Serve hot with extra hot sauce on the side. Dig in and enjoy that cheesy, crawfish-y goodness!
