Heyyy food lovers! Today, we’re making an easy and super tasty Cheesy Italian Sausage Bake with Peppers.

This is perfect for when you’re craving all the cheesy, sausage-y goodness, plus it’s loaded with peppers for that extra flavor punch. Let’s get to it!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy, your call!)
  • 2 bell peppers (red and yellow for color)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (your fave kind)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (the more cheese, the better!)
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (extra cheesy flavor!)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Olive oil (for cooking)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1Cook the sausage:
In a large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned and fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes). Break it up into bite-sized pieces as it cooks. Once done, set it aside.

2.Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) because we’re about to get cheesy!

3.Sauté the veggies:
In the same skillet, throw in the sliced bell peppers and onions. Add a little more olive oil if needed. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they’re soft and a little caramelized. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

4.Assemble the bake:
Grab a large baking dish and spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom. Add the cooked sausage and veggies on top. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over everything. Now for the best part: cover the top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Go crazy with it! 😋

Bake it up:
Pop the dish in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.
