The ultimate surf-and-turf meal that’s so easy, you’ll look like a pro chef! Let’s get into it.
Ingredients
For the Steak:
- 2 juicy ribeye steaks (or your fave cut)
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 garlic cloves, smashed
For the Shrimp:
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of salt and pepper
For the Garlic Butter Potatoes:
- 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
Directions
Step 1: Prep Those Potatoes
- Boil the potatoes in salted water for about 8–10 minutes (just until they’re fork-tender).
- Drain them and set them aside.
Step 2: Cook the Steak
- Pat your steaks dry (moisture = no crust). Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a hot skillet. Add steaks and sear for 3–4 minutes on each side.
- Toss in butter and smashed garlic, then spoon that buttery goodness over the steaks. Cook to your preferred doneness. (I go for medium-rare, like 135°F!)
- Rest steaks for 5 minutes.
Step 3: Sauté the Shrimp
- In the same pan (less cleanup, yay!), melt butter. Add shrimp, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and juicy.
Step 4: Make the Garlic Butter Potatoes
- In another skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Toss in the boiled potatoes and cook until golden and crispy. Sprinkle with parsley.
Plating Tips
- Place the steak in the center of the plate.
- Add a pile of buttery shrimp on top.
- Serve the crispy garlic potatoes on the side.
Boom! You’ve got a fancy steak dinner that looks (and tastes) like it came from a five-star restaurant. Snap some pics before everyone digs in because this is Instagram-worthy!
