Here is an authentic Lasagna Bolognese recipe that you can eat in Italy at the best Italian restaurants. This is an authentic recipe from Bologna, this classic lasagna recipe, found primarily in southern Italy and often combined with ricotta.

Ingredients

  • For the sauce
  • Use the ingredients listed here: Pasta Bolognese
  • 28 oz ricotta 
  • 3 eggs 
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan 
  • 1 lb shredded mozzarella 
  • Enough lasagna sheets to make 4 layers (depends on the size of your pan how much you will need… I would have a few boxes on hand) 

How to make it

  • Make the bolognese per my instructions here: Pasta Bolognese
  • When it’s done, let it chill for at least a few hours. Overnight is better.
  • Whisk the eggs into the ricotta
  • Making the lasagna
  • Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom of the pan and begin layering the pasta.
  • Each layer consists of:
  • Ricotta first, sauce, and some Parmesan cheese
  • For the top, repeat the same layer only you will layer the shredded mozzarella across the top instead of Parmesan
  • Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 55 minutes
  • Let it rest for about 15 minutes before serving
