Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Mix the meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Shape into small meatballs (about 1-inch each).

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until they’re browned on all sides (about 6-8 minutes).

Add the sauce: Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Cheese it up: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the meatballs and sauce.

Bake it: Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish & serve: Let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if you’re feeling fancy, then serve hot!
